Welcome! My name is Kayla, or Kay, and I’m so thankful for your interest in Hope & Joy Doula Services! From childhood, I knew that I wanted a career that allowed me to work with and support infants and families. I have considered many avenues over the years and when I learned about the role of a Doula, I knew this is what I was supposed to be doing. Being able to support someone during a life changing moment; Nothing beats that. I have experience working in a hospital for about 6 years total, and a few of those years as a Patient Care Technician. My ultimate goal during that time was to work either labor and delivery, or on the mother/baby unit. My 6 years there allowed me to gain clinical experience as well as being emotionally supportive for families. This experience will contribute to me being a strong, knowledgeable, and dependable Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Breastfeeding Counselor.

I was born and raised, and currently reside, in New Jersey. I do not have any children of my own, but I do have experience with children in my family, as well as being there for family members during their labor and delivery.

I recently moved back home from living in Maryland, which I miss! I really love Maryland living and I am still learning so much about all there is to do there. I really enjoy going into Baltimore and the surrounding cities for unique coffee shops and restaurants! When I’m not working, I enjoy reading books and I have a newfound interest in puzzles. I am really excited for this journey and I look forward to connecting with you!
